March 2016

David Gussin, 516Ads.com

PO Box 674, Merrick, NY - 11566 [email protected]

David Gussin is the co-founder of 516ads.com/631ads.com. As its name suggests, the subscription-based directory covers the Long Island area, cleverly incorporating its two area codes in the title. The goal of the resource is to “ignite business and goodness.” Gussin, the consummate connector is singlehandedly responsible for connecting thousands of Long Islanders at his sponsor-driven networking events.

Tagged as Long Island’s Business/Community Network, the successful blending of business and community can be attributed to Gussin’s infectious personality. In the age of Social Media, Gussin recognizes that the importance of interpersonal communications cannot be overlooked. In marketing his affordable advertising, Web-design company, the highly motivated entrepreneur makes it a point to engage in one-on-one contact with prospective clients.

His business skill and work ethic are nothing new. In the early 1980’s, while working at a small pizza shop, he came up with the idea of the now popular “Everything Bagel.” (Unfortunately, he did not trademark the name.) Today, he is still creating, albeit ventures of a different kind. Out of his commitment to business was born 516Ads; out of his desire to foster goodness, he created LEARN. The aptly lettered acronym stands for Let’s End All Racism Now, a vehicle to teach “an opposite to racism.”

For his efforts both in business and community, Mr. Gussin has been the subject of numerous media spotlights and the recipient of many awards.
