Employment Law Pitfalls for Small Businesses

This presentation offers insight into navigating the intricate landscape of employment law for compliance driven small businesses. Typically, most small businesses do not have a human resource executive or in-house employment counsel to know about the types of laws and issues that a business may face. Throughout our presentation we will touch upon topics such as the Wage Theft Prevention Act, Minimum Wage & Overtime Pay, Exempt vs. Non-Exempt Employees, Independent Contractor Misclassification, NYS Sick & Safe Leave, Accommodations and Leave, and Important Employer Materials. At Halpern & Scrom Law, we aim to equip small business owners with the knowledge and resources necessary to navigate these complexities to prevent issues down the road.
