The coronavirus (COVID-19) has placed SCWBEC members high at risk for economic devastation. As small business owners – yes, even the brilliant, creative and successful small business owners of SCWBEC, our businesses will likely be affected.
SCWBEC’s mission statement states that “We Promote, Encourage and Support our members to succeed in business through networking and professional development opportunities.” The Board of Directors led a successful April monthly meeting online via Facebook, and we will continue to bring you information to help you for as long as these difficult times persist.
To further assist you, we are thrilled to announce that we will offer a $1,000 stimulus award to a qualified SCWBEC member.
We encourage all of you to apply. The deadline for application is June 15, 2020.
Please use the Linda Jasper & Sally Ann Slack award application form and follow the instructions for the award criteria and documentation requirements. The instructions ask for specific ways in which you will use the award money and how it will help your business grow. Please explain how the coronavirus has affected your business and how you would use the award money to endure the pandemic throughout business closures and with a depleted customer base.
Additional qualification requirements are:
- SCWBEC Board Members are not eligible for the award while actively serving on the Board.
- Applicants must be an active member, which is defined as signing-in for at least three meetings/events during the last eight months.
- Members who have previously applied to the Linda Jasper & Sally Ann Slack award but did not receive the award are welcome to apply.
The coronavirus is shrouding us in surreal experiences we could never have imagined just a few months ago. But this is real, and the consequences are devastating. As difficult as the financial hardships are, they don’t compare to the real losses some of us have experienced. The SCWBEC Board of Directors hearts are broken for our friends and colleagues who have lost a love one due to this pandemic. We send our deepest condolences to you all.
Stay safe & healthy.
